Meet The Team
TEMASOL has a team of experts capable of integrating multiple disciplines (i.e. regulation, (eco)toxicology, human and environmental risk assessment, remote environmental monitoring, sustainability (early innovation and LCA-driven as well as business/financial), circularity, standardisation, data, IT and ecosystem services) to assist companies on their way to market.

Co-Founder & Lead Safety
Blanca Suarez Merino (PhD)
Blanca has a background in human toxicology and risk assessment on chemicals, cosmetics and medical devices, and has worked previously at the OECD level on the adaptation of testing guidelines to nanomaterials (OECD WPMN group). She also contributed to the development of risk assessment tools and frameworks like the Precautionary Matrix for nanomaterials or the TRAAC Framework and was the coordinator of the CEN/TC 352 Standard on SSbD for nanomaterials.

Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design Consultant
Joanke van Dijk (PhD)
Joanke's main focus is on the science-policy interface of the risk assessment and management of chemicals, in particular under the scope of the Safe and Sustainable by Design concept. Key areas include hazard prediction of chemicals, alternatives assessment and the integration of scientific data into decision-making processes.

Scientfic Environmental Consultant
Rayén Mentler Muñoz (MSc)
Rayén has a background in environmental sciences with a specialization in biogeochemistry and pollutant dynamics. In her early years as a professional, she worked in the area of remote sensing and climate change. However, she now focuses on environmental impact assessment performing life cycle assessment in different projects.

Scientific Consultant
Élise Morel (PhD)
Élise has a background in (nano)ecotoxicology and an interest in standardisation processes. She supports the design of safe and sustainable innovative technologies, with a focus on safety assessments within TEMASOL projects. She is also looking at ways to feed the LCA assessment of graphene based 2D nanomaterials with the various hazard data generated by the project in order to produce environmental footprints in a cost-efficient manner.

Sustainability Consultant
Véronique Adam (PhD)
Véronique has a background in environmental risk assessment and material flow analysis. She develops and implements innovative methodologies for sustainability assessments, and performs (prospective) life cycle assessment on various industrial case studies. Veronique also works on ecotoxicity characterization factors.

Co-Founder & Lead European Projects
James Baker (PhD)
James has a background in minerals, environmental technologies and sensors, and developing new nano materials from waste products. He has a long track record in developing EU funded projects, and for the past few years has been looking at the value chains of (multi component) nano and advanced materials, particularly their release points, and is involved in developing an early warning system for regulators to ensure awareness of trends in new materials.

Lead Sustainability
Cyrille Durand (MSc)
Cyrille has a background in designing sustainable products and materials for the circular economy in an industrial and international value chains setting. Prior to TEMAS Solutions, Cyrille led a project on sustainable plastics & packaging value chains at the WBCSD. Cyrille specializes in sustainability and circularity assessments guiding industry in the development of advanced materials in sectors such as automotive, aerospace, construction or electronics.

Co-Founder
Devendra Joshi
Deven has a background in Business & IT and has guided new and emerging technologies on their digitalization and sustainability journey. This includes the development of exploitation through standardisation, data management and quality assurance of emerging technologies as well as developing a strategy for their subsequent market entry.
